There is a map command to addfancyterrain which can increase the number of special sites and resources. I was trying to create an addfancygifts. I was trying to add magic items to a large map using the maybestartevent 25 for a 25% chance of having an item found there if a monster started there. But it blew up. There is apparently (so far) a 1000 event limit.
That means the x and y must be randomized which makes the map a little bit more predictable unless the map is re-randomized frequently such as by my server.
But I thought maybe someone would like to script a web cgi. I would be willing to host it. Set the map x y limits and how many lines you want generated.
Maybe add a choice of doing the lines as "start events", "maybe start" events (with percentage), "turn events" (which turn), or "recurring events" (with frequency).
Maybe another for mixing them up.
And maybe while we are at it... since we are providing a way to randomize the x and y maybe set them as a range to try and avoid water or only have it write for a small part like the middle of the map. And why not toss in the option to set random ranges for percentage, turn, and frequency?
If I could click a cgi and tell it I want 100 lines to randomly drop magic items into the middle area of my large map then that would be great. (yeah I know, DIY. Maybe someday I would get it done but if anyone feels they can whip this off then please do. I will gladly host it)
