Don't be a stranger. Introduce yourself.
As for me, I'm a graduate student in English and enjoy salsa dancing, playing guitar, trying to teach myself programming, and (of course) playing games in my spare time. I found out about Illwinter through Dominions 3 and have enjoyed their games ever since. My favorite game genres are roguelikes and strategy games. I enjoy lots of randomness.

I'm Edi, or Edirr in some places where the shorter form of the name has already been taken. Tech support by profession, I've been involved with the CoE3 beta test and wrote the manual for the game.

Hi. I'm a student and a gamer. I'm also the guy who's currently self-appointed to herd the cats of the dom3 community on the Something Awful forums, which is where I was convinced to buy dom3 and where I do 99% of my gaming. I believe this forum does in fact attach usernames to posts, which is kind of like wearing a nametag during introductions

Greetings to all and thanks for everyone's contributions to be able to gather here and exchange information and ideas!
I won't bore everyone with any specific logistics or personal errata, but I've been a PC gamer and stomping around on the Internet from around 1993. Shardz, my gaming nickname pseudonym, originates as a callsign I simultaneously devised to play Descent and CivNet online through local BBS's. I have not changed it since, so Shardz it is...
For some reason unknown, and completely uncredited to my lack of searching, I only discovered Illwinter last year and have grown to appreciate their games as a high standard of excellence which is generally absent in the industry today. And to this great extent, I digress...as I do. I look forward to the interchange of communications and thorough enjoyment of CoE3 (as well as all of Illwinter games) with the community here and abound.

Hi!
Got mulk. Played some dom3 single but had no courage to go multi and got bored of it because ai. Loving coe3 for it's fast play and randomness. Playing Bloodline Champions at top lvl atm. Seemed like this game is made by excellent makers that don't abandon their games after 1-2 patches like most of games i've tried lately.

Hey. Carlton isn't actually my real name.
I've been a fan of Illwinter ever since I read about Dominions PPP in CGW years ago and then downloaded the demo. I'm a huge SP fan. I only recently started playing my first ever Dom3 MP games.
CoE3 really is right up my alley. I enjoy roguelikes and 4X games a lot. Combine the two and well... score.
Anywho, I thought I would try to be more involved with the Illwinter community once they announced CoE3, so here I am.
I like to toy around with creative writing on the side and I'm almost always open for a multiplayer game of CoE3 if anybody is ever interested. I'll try to remember to frequent this forum, but I'm definately active on the Desura CoE3 forum.

Hi,
I'm a physics student and I'm having fun with CoE 3 atm and looking for MP. I got active in Dom3 MP just recently, too. Illwinter effectively stopped all my other gaming interests ;D.
So I'm about to start the Trial by Fire and see where this is going

OK WHERE IS THE STEAMING HORDE WE WERE PROMISED?!?
For years Ive seen arguments pushing Illwinter to put their games on Steam. Vast glowing promises of hordes of new players. The fact that they would be dropping the PR person they had was OBVIOUSLY going to be countered by the automatic advertising that a game on Steam gets when it goes on sale over and over and over.
Seriously though, where are they? So far in the official forum (at Desura which sucks) I mostly see ex-Dom3 players. Many of them dont like CoE3 because its not the MP game that Dom3 is. And those that do like it, seem stuck in Dom3 thinking.
Where is the Team Play? Where are the quests? Where are the campaigns? Where are the Scenarios? CoE3 allows for so much more than Dom3 did but apparently we need new people who are coming from games that had such abilities.
AND I still really would like to see some 3rd party program stuff done. The SemiRandom program for Dom3 could be done SO much easier with CoE3. We could run a map thru and have it randomly place quests for us so that we can play a new map we dont know where everything is.
And speaking of running a map thru, a MapGen for CoE3 would be much easier than for Dom3. We had half a dozen MapGen projects for Dom3.
What about UnitGen? What about NationGen? What about a GM nation (like Watcher, or Pantokrator, or Debug mods were for Dom3).
Come on! Where is the new blood instead of the old burn-outs? I was told there would be a Steaming Horde. (and yeah yeah yeah I know, fuckin DIY. Well Im trying to do that too)
