Here is my first attempt at a CoE3 custom map. I haven't had a chance to extensively test it yet, but have tested the commands I used on another map and feel they function the way I expect.
Basically, I wanted to craft a map that drastically increased the amount of magic items available. Each major non-town or mine site has a chance to both spawn magic items for the defenders and provide extra magic items as rewards for taking them. This is usually only 1-2 magic items per site, but has a chance for more at times.
Also, there is a crystal tower near each starting position that will grant a random magic item each year if a unit is at that location, and also the first time it is claimed. There are also increased chances for magic items and an extra surprise in the middle of the map.
It is a 36 x 25 size map balanced for 4 players with their own starting locations. I started with a random generated map and modified it fairly quickly to try to mostly balance it. There may be also certain terrain types that it is lacking for certain races. I have only played the Baron so far, so may be missing some stuff there.
There also seems to be some possible issues with the way messages work with the claiming and recurring events. When I tested it out in hotseat mode with 4 players on my one machine, all of the magic item claim messages for these events would occur all at once before player 1's turn. Each player got their magic items just fine, but the messages were out of turn. Perhaps that is just because I was in hot-seat mode, though.
Hopefully it turns out to be fun! I haven't had a chance to try it yet and have to go shovel the driveway, but hope to try it out later on. Please let me know if it is majorly broken or if you find any other issues.
Thanks!
