Someone could go ahead and start work on an animal mod. There might be a lot of interest in it. Of course, fixing the usual complaints would be nice. For some reason people have trouble with the idea of deer kicking ass. (Ive done wildlife management, I have no trouble with it). But also some great joke ideas are popping up. or nerdapproved.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/garden_gnome_riding_bunny.jpg?cb5e28

I can test a mod ahead of the patch coming out if someone wants to be the first.
Im supposed to be testing it anyway, yours would probably be a better test than my stupid little ones.

Why hasnt anyone "fixed" this yet?
OK maybe I will make a series of mods that water down the aggression of the animals. OK Deer obviously is a big complaint. And bear, wolf, boar, snake, serpent, giant boar, elephant, moose. Anything else that "attacks my stuff too much?"
Im not sure how deep I want to go into it. Giant Boars feel abit too far. If I include Giant Spiders then Im definitely into monsters

OK here is a Deer Mod. www.coe-3.com/~gandalf/CoE3/Deer.zipIt makes the deer in the game much less likely to attack your farms and mines. If you read the .c3m file itself (its just a text file) then it also mentions other ways to limit the actions of the deer even more. Even to the level of removing them from the game completely. This mod can easily be used as a basis for making another mod which does the same thing for all of the wilderness animals which you feel are giving you more of a hard time than they should.

I am thrilled to announce that there is an improved version of this on the official Conquest of Elysium 3 forum at Desura.com www.desura.com/games/conquest-of-elysium-3/forum/thread/mod-less-agressive-animals-fix-the-wildlifeBut as I always say.... feci quod potui, faciant meliora potentes I have done what I could, those who can will do better. On the other hand, if you are presently PISSED OFF at the Independents and wildlife for kicking your ass, then here is an alternative action. Paste these lines to the end of a map file then play the map. fixedplayer 0 -1 1 0 3 fixedplayer 1 -1 2 1 3 fixedplayer 2 -1 3 1 3 fixedplayer 3 -1 2 1 3 fixedplayer 4 -1 3 1 3 fixedplayer 5 -1 4 1 3 fixedplayer 6 -1 1 0 3 fixedplayer 7 -1 4 1 3 fixedplayer 8 17 1 0 3
This will add the Independents TO YOUR TEAM. If you cant beat them, then join them.

Personally, I have no trouble at all with the way wildlife was designed in the standard game (and I sense, neither have you). Nevertheless, I too see this complaint a lot, so it's nice to be able to refer to this mod of yours as a solution to the "problem". (All the mods of Ulius seem to be gone from the face of the earth, unfortunately; all his links are dead, so yours is now, once again, all there is, in public.) A few minor things, though: - In the standard game, deer are fast. This attribute is not there in your mod. Unintentionally? I.e. the number 16 needs to be added to the move number(s) of the mod, if deer are still to be fast.
- A description command is missing.
- (Very minor thing.) The banner image (which I very much like, by the way ) could be saved as RLE compressed, making it a mere fraction of its uncompressed size. (The game has no problem reading RLE compressed TARGA images.)
- (Not so minor.) The link to your mod seems now to have stopped working. (It was still working just a few weeks ago, I think, when I managed to download your mod, but not now.)
I am therefore taking the liberty of reposting your mod here – as an attachment, here on the proboards forum – though changed according to 1, 2 and 3 above. (For description, I am basically just quoting your post above, where you originally published the mod.) If you disapprove, you can always remove it, I assume. (Otherwise, tell me, and I will.)
